Well, we are off to a great start! I can't believe it is already our fourth week of school! I am loving Thomas Edison. I am so grateful for the class I have as well!
For this post I am going to give a few upcoming announcements. If there is anything urgent I can always e-mail you, but for know, this is what I know...

Band begins on September 15th! They will meet at 3:10-3:50 PM
Monday: Flutes, Clarinets, and Saxophones
Tuesday: Trumpets, Trombones, and Euphoniums
Wednesday: Percussion (Drums)
Thursday: Everybody

Orchestra begins September 9th! They will meet 3:10-3:50 PM
Tuesday/Thursday: 1st year students
Monday/ Wednesday: 2nd year students

If you want to have your child sign up, I will send them with a permission slip.

Friday, September 12th is the Fall Festival. Please bring your family to that! It sounds like a blast!
If you can help, please call the office.

The end of the term is September 26th. We will be out of school that day at 12:00.
Parent teacher conferences will be October 14-15th. We will get out at 12 on the 14th and have no school the 15th.

I would also like to ask for your help with homework. Our class is struggling to hand in everything they need to. They are required to bring four things every day.
1. Math Assignment
2. Math Corrections
3. Math Facts
4. Spelling Homework
They also need to bring their reading sheet, but it does not count against them.

Week 1: A New Beginning

The first week of school has been a huge success. I am very impressed by your children! They are so smart!!!
A couple of updates:

  1. I will start sending spelling homework home on Monday. We will have a pretest on Thursday. If they get 100% they will not have to take the test on Friday.
  2. I am starting some tutoring for those who need a little help in math. E-mail me personally if you feel your child could use the tutoring time.
  3. Those of you who signed up to help in the classroom, I will call you shortly to let you know that we are finally ready for you.
  4. No school next Monday for Labor Day!
Thank you for all of your support. I am truly amazed by the parent involvement at Thomas Edison. It makes a huge difference in your child's education. Thank you!!!
Have a great week.
